Liberty Live Education Programs
History Isn’t Just Something You Read. It’s Something You Experience.
Liberty Live brings the American Revolution out of the history books and into the hands of today’s learners. Through historically accurate, interactive Learning Experiences, students explore the people, choices, skills, struggles, and everyday life that shaped the Revolution—especially here in the South Carolina Backcountry. Our interdisciplinary programs combine living history with hands-on activities and STEM/STEAM connections where appropriate, creating memorable experiences that encourage learners to see, touch, question, participate, and discover history for themselves.
Bringing the American Revolution
Out of the History Books and Into Their Hands
Liberty Live works in conjunction with the Southern Campaign 1780 Artillery Team, members of the 2nd South Carolina Regiment of the Continental Line, members of the Southeastern Civilian Living Historians, members of the Colonial Living History Interpreters, and various other colonial history experts and volunteers to ensure historical accuracy and integrity of our programs.
Our Liberty Live education programs encourages you to walk in the footsteps of our ancestors, immersing yourself in the lives of the backcountry colonials as well as militia, Continental, and British soldiers.
Exploration into the conditions in which indigenous, immigrant, enslaved, and indentured populations existed will allow you to evaluate their reasons for either remaining loyal to the British Crown or supporting the cause of becoming a free independent nation.
One Revolution. Many Ways to Explore It.
From bringing living history directly to your school or organization to our annual Liberty Live Education Day in Camden, Southern Campaign 1780 offers engaging ways for learners of all ages to experience the people, stories and skills of the Revolutionary era.

Living History.
Grounded in Real History.
Liberty Live is committed to historical accuracy and integrity in every program we present. Our interpreters are experienced living historians who combine careful research with engaging, approachable storytelling.
Through reproduction artifacts, historically appropriate demonstrations and collaboration with knowledgeable historians and reenactors, we help learners understand not simply what happened, but how people experienced the world in which those events took place.
